Weekly Happening 9-29-14

Aloha Families!

This is our last week of the quarter.  Time has really flown by.  We finished up our timelines and I
will be sending them home this week.

We have started Chapter 3 in math.  It is all about addition and subtraction strategies.  We are working on ways to make 10, adding more than 2 numbers and memorizing our facts.  At home keep up with the fun math games and if you have a computer or iPad get on Reflex Math a few times per week. This will really help your child improve their math facts.

Here is our homework for the week.

This week at school is also spirit week.  There are many different activities happening throughout the week.

-Tuesday we have an SURF assembly and students are asked to wear a red shirt.

-Wednesday is Dress Up day-Wear nice clothes

-Thursday is Aloha Wear Day

-Friday - School colors Blue and Green

*Wednesday please have your child wear tennis shoes for PE.  We have had lots of broken slippers.

Please remember to send in your conference slips so that the office can schedule a time for you.  We will have conferences the last week of October.

October 6-10 is Fall Break.  I hope you and your family have a relaxing and enjoyable break.

Weekly Happenings 9-22-14

Aloha Families!

This week we are taking assessments and working on our writing skills.  We only have 2 weeks left in the quarter, so we are finishing up all of our 1st quarter work.

Parents please remember to send back the yellow envelope that goes home each week. We are missing quite a few.

Here is a copy of our homework for the week.

Our spelling words are review words from the 1st quarter.  Students should be able to spell them from knowing the spelling rules.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Last week our class earned 13 minutes of free choice time.  Let's try for 15 minutes this week.

We also started putting together our personal timelines and they are turning out great!

If you would still like to send in pictures you can do so this week.  Please make sure they are 4 x 6 or smaller to fit on our papers.
